ANNOUNCEMENTS

I have finally submitted all of the paperwork to the IRS for the formation of my 501c3 non-profit foundation.  The Sharon Clough Foundation's (thesharoncloughfoundation.org) mission is to find a cure for lung cancer and create a screening test that detects the fatal cancer in its early stage.  More importantly, we will give a voice to lung cancer that it currently lacks.  I am in the process of securing celebrities, right now an NFL player, to help bring attention to my cause.  If you know of anyone who has died or currently has the disease you may direct them to thesharoncloughfoundation.org and sign into the wall of remembrance or the wall of prayer.

Many people have been using the submit 3 questions for free via email and this has been growing every week.  I have also acquired an 800 number and this will be coming soon, so that people can contact me via phone.

I am in the process of changing from Joomla, current, to Wordpress that will be much more user friendly.  While I am doing this I am holding off on changing the content that will have to be translated and copied to the new site.  At the same time I do this I will redesign the site's look that will push us into our next phase.  

Again thank you for visiting medicalspeakinenglish.com.  We have surpassed 60,000 hits and our Alexa ranking is increasing.  The content will be changing soon but I am in the process of considering a template/design and/or host server change and until this is decided I am holding off on changing the content.  The reason being is because it all would have to be copied into the new template.

The twitter page continues to create buzz, with 245 followers currently.  Our Facebook likes have increased 25%, and in the near future I will do a scheduled an event on Facebook so that people can meet me.

WEBSITE PERFORMANCE

The sites visitors continues to increase daily, we are now over 60,000.  In addition, our likes on Facebook is increasing and our twitter followers are increasing daily.  This month we have increased the visitors by 15%.  The registered users are up also.  I would like to extend a heartfelt welcome to all of our new registered users and subscribers, and I would like to personally thank them for making medicalspeakinenglish.com a growing success.   

MARKETING

We have some exciting news.  Medicalspeakinenglish.com is still one of 10 finalists left, out of thousands, to be listed on a Chinese hospital website, and hopefully we will hear about this soon although this process has been extremely slow.  Again this will be very exciting and good for medicalspeakinenglish.com as it will increase our presence in the international community. We are currently running ads in Hong Kong that has increased our visibility.  I continue to work on adding medicalspeakinenglish.com to Bie Du, China's version of Google and this is an ongoing process.  But, dealing internationally takes a bit more time.  

Medicalspeakinenglish.com will also be publishing PT videos soon and we are currently in production on these videos, and I hope to have these up in the near future.

LIVE CHAT

Our live chat continues to be popular and grows weekly.  We have participants from Texas, Canada, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Idaho, Virginia, England, Boston, Colorado, Virgina, Seattle, India, and Poland.  I will be running the chats every Tuesday night at 8 pm to whenever it ends. 

In addition, we will have a new host for RSD night, which will probably run weekly and her name is Karen Slater.  She runs her own website, survivingpain.com, that I have also gone on to chat, and I am not a regular host on this site.  We will be joining forces and more to come on this.  In addition, we will be incorporating paintingpain.com into our website and I am very excited about this

PHYSICAL THERAPY with The Doctor of Physical Therapy is slowly growing and visitors are enjoying this.  Slowly visitors are learning what they need to do to help themselves and how physical therapy can help them, and that it doesn't have to make them worse.  Thanks to Dan and Katie. 

MEDICAL TOPIC SPECIFIC SUPPORT GROUP/CHATS.  The support group/topic specific live chats are also growing.  The topic specific sessions are run by our chat leader, but periodically I will pop into the support group/chat session.  The schedule of these chats is in the live chat section through.  WHAT IF THERE IS A LIVE CHAT SESSION WITH THE MEDICAL EXPERT OR THE DOCTOR OF PHYSICAL THERAPY ON THAT NIGHT.  If the support group/chat session lands on a live chat night with the medical expert, the support group/chat session will still happen that night and I will be on.  If the support group/chat session happens to land on a physical therapy it will be postponed until the following month.     

In addition, you will soon see us on You Tube so look for that in the near future.  The format will consist of short videos covering a specific medical topic.  This feature will either be on You Tube itself with a link to the medicalspeakinenglish.com or I will have it actually on the site.  However, before I place the video on the site I have to ensure that it will not slow the website down and I am currently looking into this.  Each topic will have a series of videos that discusses a specific topic followed by a video on how to diagnose it, a video on how what the tests mean, and a video on how to treat the condition.

MEDICAL ETHICS

The medical ethics section is up and running and currently covers the basic principles of ethics for which all ethics cases are discussed.  The first case is coming soon entitled:  Is it ethical for providers to treat their own family members?  

CHRONIC PAIN THROUGH PICTURES

More pictures are in the works from medicalspeakinenglish.com's own artist, Heather Bolinder.  This section continues to be a huge hit among our subscribers and visitors and I would like to thank our registered member Heather Bolinder for painting these wonderful pictures.   In addition, Heather has published her own website, paintingpain.com  that I am working on incorporating into my site.  If you would like her to consider painting what your pain feels like or another medical condition please visit her website.
